- A bulky black box made of galvanized sheet metal folded over at the seams and rolled at the edges. Top is hinged at back and closes over small metal lip with hasp for locking at front. Three metal plates riveted to back have been cut off close to rivets with the two lower plates apparently having been joined together as a single piece of metal. Outside roughly painted black except for area that would have been covered by the strap of metal between the rivets in the back. Interior shows rusty rings on bottom and runs down sides.

- Two Thermos bottles in oval shaped, brown leather case with red leatherette lining, mid divided and strapped lid. Each of two Thermos bottles has screw top which doubles as cup, cork stopper, glass lining, stainless steel body. Pressure bottom near top off stainless exterior can be pushed to release top portion of stainless body and glass liner for removal, cleaning, and replacement. Liner is round bottomed and mirror lined for heat retention. Corrugated cardboard lies between glass liner and stainless container. "1914 Trademark Thermos" seen on glass liner. Bottom of each of Thermos stamped "American Thermos Bottle Co., New York... American Trademark Thermos, U.S. Patent followed by date lists from 1905 through 1908. One of corrugated liners disintegrated from dryness.
