- James Dean Robinson, 1888-1971, was a physician at Banff, Alberta, Canada from 1923 to 1954. Dr. Robinson came to Banff to work with Dr. R. G. Brett. He became a renowned expert in rheumatic diseases and established the Banff Medical Clinic for the treatment of arthritis. He was an active musician and member of the Trail Riders of the Canadian Rockies.

- Fonds consists of copies of items from a personal scrapbook pertaining to Dr. Robinson's medical work between ca.1916-ca.1962; obituaries, 1971; typescript of excerpts from Dr. Robinson's journal, including anecdotes from personal medical life, ca.1918-ca.1954 (typescript produced by Peggy Millard and published under the title "What a Life! Journal and Recollections of Canadian Pioneer Dr. James Dean Robinson", ca.1989); note giving ages and occupations of Robinson family members, 1939; photographs pertaining to Dr. Dean Robinson, family and friends, Banff, medical work and activities, ca.1920-ca.1940.
