Scope & Content
Series consists of: A. Film negatives, 5x7 inches, 173 items; B. Film negatives, 8x10 inches and larger, 68 items. Consists of scenic, documentary and commercial views similar to material in previous series. Includes views know to have been produced by Fred Armbrister, a professional photographer who operated out of Lake Louise, Alberta, ca.1930. -- Title based on accession records and contents of series. -- Material was acquired in 1967, probably without original envelopes and with no logical arrangement. It was attributed at that time to Fred Armbrister, but subsequent investigation indicated that, with the exception of nineteen large-format views and possible exception of some Lake Louise area scenic views, the material is probably George Noble's. Negatives in this series were arranged during collection processing in 1988 to bring like material together. -- Arrangement outline available in printed form; file-level inventory available through this database; selected contact prints available in visual reference file.
