- The foreground contains exposed rock, coloured violet-grey, with areas of ground (composed of touches of brown, red-brown and green). In the middleground, thin lines of exposed rock lie in light grey-blue water. The horizon is a line of violet-grey. The upper two-thirds of the composition contains a mass of grey and blue-grey clouds. This mass is partially divided in two by a horizontal edge of higher blue-grey cloud meeting some lower light grey clouds.
