Scope & Content: File consists of 21 photographs including 2 which are printed on postcard paper and 2 in personalized greeting cards. Content pertains to the Woodworth family house in Banff [ca. 1900], holiday greetings from family friends, a snowshoe race on the Bow River [1912], "wagoneer" Jim Stewart with a government water wagon, Joe Woodworth and Jo Wardell with family on a trip to Oakville, Ontario, Maud Woodworth Kidney as a teenager and ca. 1970 with her son Jack, a lunch party, a Christmas party, events hosted by the Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire and the Order of the Eastern Star, a community play from 1911, the first CPR Depot [1908], ski jumping in Banff, the Banff Royal Canadian Legion war memorial cenotaph, and other community events involving the Kidney family.

Notes: File contains some duplicates; Photographs in this file were accompanied by notes made shortly before or after accession in 1979 giving names/contextual information about photographs. Some notes are by Jim Deegan, 1987. Information has been transferred to the back of each photograph.

Scope & Content: File consists of one photograph album containing 224 black and white photograph prints, one newspaper clipping and one pressed plant. Many photographs are annotated in white lettering or on reverse sides. Content pertains to family members and friends of Maud Woodworth and depicts people posing in military uniforms, horseback riding/packing trips in the Canadian Rockies, portraits of various family members, Maud Woodworth at the Banff Winter Carnival ice palace, numerous babies and young children, skiing, children playing, horseback riding and ranching, camping, hiking, swimming, the Bankhead monument, and boating. Locations include Bear Creek, Brazeau Lake, Nigel Pass, Banff Springs Hotel, the Woodworth home in Banff, Cave and Basin, "The Great Divide" [Alberta/British Columbia border], and Vancouver. Individuals include Joe Woodworth, Annie and Maud Woodworth, Mary and Margaret Simpson [later known as the "Simpson Sisters"], "Billie" and numerous others who are mostly unnamed. History / Biographical: Frederick Albert Woodworth (August 8, 1895 - April 16, 1916) was the fifth child of eleven, born to parents Elizabeth and Benjamin Woodworth in the town of Banff. Fred Woodworth worked as an electrician in the mines at Bankhead prior to joining the war effort in February 1915. Fred was shot by enemy fire on April 16, 1916 and is now buried in Ypres, Belgium. Fred has a second memorial located in the Woodworth family section of the Banff Town Cemetery.

Scope & Content: File consists of a published guidebook for ice hockey, three menus/programmes for events in Banff, three postcards, three pages of loose poetry, and news clippings/pages from newspapers. Content pertains to a community Christmas dinner event at the King Edward Hotel in Banff; loose poetry, handwritten; postcards sent to Benjamin Sr., Maud and Ethel Woodworth, between 1906 and ca. 1915; a copy of the newsletter "Trench Echo" from the 27th Battalion in Winnipeg from 1915; a dinner banquet menu/programme for the 56th Overseas Battalion dated 1916; a news clipping announcing the marriage of Ted and Minnie Davidson, ca. 1915; two pages of a June 7, 1888 publication of the "National Park Life" newspaper; an invitation to the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Ladies Auxiliay Annual Ball 1914; and a news clipping of a memorial article for Frederick Woodworth who was killed in action during World War I.

Notes: One page of a two-page handwritten poem is signed "E M W" [likely "Ella Maud Woodworth"].
