Description
The painting is made of two main parts, the upper right corner and the lower left corner. The upper right has an abstracted cut out that runs along the top of the image. While the lower object has been identified as 104.20.0607 a-g. It is a Japanese Lacquer coaster set that can be found in the Whyte House, U2 sw. It is pasted with its shadow and appears three-dimensional on the surface of the image. Wood gain is visible through the acrylic surface. The paint appears to have been watered down and absorbed into the pores of the wood. The back shows two labels, one from the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies and the other from the Paul Kuhn Gallery, See description for more details. The Whyte label is from the Exhibition (See Exhibition tab) and the Paul Kuhn Gallery label is from when it was for sale at the Paul Kuhn Gallery.
