Label on bottom in E.S. Morse's handwriting says "Pompeii before A.D. 79".

(a) trilobite is quite nice, it is on a rock slab 12.4 x 10.8 cm, the trilobite measuring 9.3x4.7 cm, part of the tail is missing.(b) ammonite (9.5x8.7 cm) is actually a shape of an ammonite depressed in a large circular slab of rock measuring 27.0 dia and 2.2 thick.
