- The Archives General File is an artificial collection of accessions which do not constitute separate fonds or collections or cannot be placed within existing fonds or collections. Included in the collection are textual records of many types, such as manuscripts, reports, letters, diaries, speeches, poetry, plans and others; photographs in the form of prints, negatives, transparencies, albums, postcards, etc.; sound recorded interviews and programmes; and motion pictures. Material pertains broadly to the Banff area and many other areas within the Archives collecting mandate.
- Notable items include: Walter Wilcox letter; George Kinney report; interviews with Bill Round and Edward Feuz; original copy of Treaty Number Seven; Mary Schaffer material, including letters, notes, photograph and report; reports on the Nakimu Caves; film pertaining to Banff Winter Carnival; Georgia Engelhard letters and photos; plans for buildings and structures; George Noble photograph; W. - A typed text report on Banff 14 pages long - the text has been heavily edited throughout with white-out and additional pieces of paper glued overtop of written text. Accompanying the text are 26 images and 4 maps, two of which are hand-drawn as overlays of the others. The report follows the story of a family named West from Calgary visiting their cousins, the Cunninghams, in Banff sometime in the late 1960s, which is also when it is believed the report was written. It is unclear if the families are real or fictitious. The report describes in some detail the history of the area, features around town, environment, commerce, wildlife, and community and ends with a series of questions, presumably posed to students. The accompanying prints relate to the topics in the report and are numbered to correspond correctly - some prints have typed text notations attached either to the back or the front along an edge. Two prints show the town of Banff from the top of Tunnel Mountain and a Mylar sheet has been laid overtop of each with landmarks, streets, and buildings noted in blue ink. Contents of the images include the afore mentioned aerial views, the Administration Building grounds, shops along Banff Avenue (which clearly show shop-front windows, signs, cars, and peoples' outfits), the original Whyte Museum building, the Banff High School, the Cave & Basin cave and pools, various wildlife, and Banff Indian Days.

- History / Biographical
- Harvey was born in Calgary and died in Victoria. Harvey received degrees at the University of Alberta, mathematics and physics (BSc. I Hon.50) and at the University of British Columbia, applied mathematics (MA 52) and experimental physics (PhD 56). His post doctoral fellowship took him to Cambridge University from where he returned to become a professor at the University of Alberta, the University of Calgary, and an adjunct professor of the University of Victoria. At the University of Calgary he played leadership roles in TUCFA, academic pensions, salary negotiator, was an elected member of the Board of Governors, and received an induction into the Order of the University of Calgary. He was a founding member of Calgary CPAWS, and member and chair of Science Advisory Committee of the ECA which lead him to be a proponent for climate change long before it was fashionable. In his community he was President and played a leadership role in the Bankview redevelopment plan. He photographed and documented the graves of God's Acre Military Cemetery for Veteran's Affairs Canada, and was the compiler and editor of the 2014 edition of the Veterans Cemetery. He worked tirelessly for parks particularly in the creation of Nose Hill Park.

- Roger Ruck (1915-1953) was born in Taunton, Somerset, U.K., to parents Rev. George Ruck and Muriel Ruck. Roger married Dr. Esme Ruck (nee De Smidt, born ca.1920) and the couple had one son, Michael (born ca.1946). Roger spent time in the Windermere region between ca.1935-1940 before moving to North Kinangop, Kenya. Roger, Esme, and Michael were murdered on January 24, 1953 during the Mau Mau Uprising.
