- A Kodak Studio scale (a), in original box (b) with lid (c).The box is sandy-brown in colour. On the viewer-right face of the box there is a sticker containing the text: “ONE KODAK STUDIO SCALE” “SOLE IMPORTER INTO CANADA CANADIAN KODAK CO., LIMITED TORONTO” “MADE IN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA BY EASTMAN KODAK COMPANY KOCHESTER, N.Y.” “Trade Mark Reg. U.S. Pat. Off.”“K P 4947D C-4016”There is a piece of paper glued to the inside of the box lid (c) that contains instructions for the user with the title: “IMPORTANT Balance the Scale Before Using”. The view-left side of the paper contains text in English, and the viewer-right side of the paper contains text in Spanish. The balance scale (a) is mounted on a rectangular, varnished wooden base (measuring 23.0 X 10.0 X 1.5 cm) and has three black, round plastic pads oriented in a triangular fashion on the bottom. The viewer-right side of the inner balance beam contains a semi-circle sticker with a black border and black text that reads: “SOLE IMPORTER INTO CANADA CANADIAN KODAK CO. LIMITED TORONTO”. There are two scale pans (d-e), each measuring 9.0 cm in diameter and containing a small, rounded handle with a hole drilled through the center.There are 6 metal weights (f-k) that have clearly come with the scale set, each engraved with their mass: “2 OZ.”, “1 OZ.”, “1/2 OZ”, “1/4 OZ.”, “50 GR.”, “50 GR.”. The weights are situated within a metal strip that is affixed to the bottom viewer-right side of the wood base. This metal strip contains the engraved text: “KODAK STUDIO SCALE FOR PHOTOGRAPHIC PURPOSES MADE BY EASTMAN KODAK CO. ROCHESTER, N.Y. U.S.A.” There are also three other weights (l-n) that were found within the box that do not seem to belong to the scale set, that are labeled “20” “30” “50” with blue ink.

There is also tan-coloured tape along the bottom edges of the back and viewer-left and viewer-right faces of the box. Across the bottom of the viewer-right face of the box, the tan-coloured tape contains the text “PHOTO SCALES” in black marker.The box opens up (by lifting the top face up and back, which allows the front face of the box to open horizontally towards the viewer) to reveal the balance scale inside. These two openable faces are lined with a light-coloured paper on the inside of the box. The inside-top of the box contains text that reads:“REXO LABORATORY SCALE FOR QUICK AND ACCURATE WEIGHING” in black and orange font. Underneath this text, the Burke & James logo appears with the following text: “Burke & James Inc. Manufactures of Rexo Products CHICAGO” in black font. The inside-front face of the box contains text that reads: “FITTED WITH TIME SAVING BALANCE BEAM BOTH AVOIRDUPOIS AND METRIC SENSITIVE TO ONE GRAIN PENDULUM INDICATOR” in alternating black and orange font. The balance scale is mounted on a varnished wood base (measuring 22.0 X 9.5 X 1.5 cm). - Burgundy leather hard-sided travel case for Leica camera accessories. The case looks like a standard briefcase, with leather caps on the corners and two locking clasps, one on either side of the handle, which is still wrapped in paper. Throughout the exterior are black and silver metal studs either holding the corner protectors in place or the interior dividing compartments. The interior of the lid is lined with red and white plaid paper and the main body of the case is lined with thin pale wood. Throughout the interior are wooden pieces meant to separate accessories, some of the pieces are covered with burgundy velvet. There is a small metal ring with two keys for the latches’ locks hanging from the handle.

- A travel case made from some hard light-weight black material (possibly metal) with a hinged lid that closes with metal latches on either side of a latched lock. Metal brackets on all of the corners and reinforcing along all edges - wooden runners along the bottom of the case horizontally. There is a leather strap that clips into loops on the short sides of the box as well as a leather travel tag. Attached to the leather strap is a yellow Canadian Pacific Railway travel tag with a piece of string. Throughout the exterior are various travel labels, mostly torn. On the lid is a white rectangular “Canadian Pacific” label that reads “Nicholas Morant, Special Photographer Canadian Pacific Ltd. care CP Transport” in typed text and “Banff Alta” written in black ink above a scratched out typed “Victoria, B.C.” Also on the lid is a piece of masking tape with “LEICA & FILM & ACCESSORIES” written in blue ink possibly by Nick Morant. The interior is lined with beige fabric and both the main body and the interior of the lid are divided into two equal compartments. In one of the body compartments are wooden slats that most likely sit on supports inside each part to create additional compartments at the bottom of the case, but they are not in place. The compartments in the lid are held closed with small pieces of leather that snap onto the front panels which hinge down on strips of brown fabric tape. Inside the case and lid compartments are a Leica camera and various accessories,

Three clasps on the lid, the centre one has a keyhole, no key. The handle on the lid may have been compressed paper or leather, but has been wrapped in black electrical tape so only the original metal loops and brackets remain. The carry strap attaches to both short sides with metal clips and is made of brown leather - the strap has a buckle that is undone so the two halves hang separately at the sides. Throughout the exterior are various travel stickers and labels, mostly torn.The interior of the case is lined with black paper and the bulk of the body is comprised of a particleboard insert separated into three compartments that sits on braces near the bottom, creating a hidden compartment underneath.Contents of the box include various camera accessories and equipment, as well as a collection of manuals for various film exposures. Includes a light reflector in a white bag with blue edges, a flash mount in a handmade red bag and the flash mount’s cords in a different dark red velvet bag (also in that bag are two extended triggers), a “Rolleflex” lens in a brown leather pouch inside a purple Crown Royal bag, eight manuals in a white “Canadian National Hotels” bag, two different sized yellow filters in clear plastic cases, and in a square cardboard box are two screws, a grey cable, a square lens and a 250 mm focuser, and a lens block.

- Hard-sided black travel case with a hinged lid used to carry a folding Deardolff camera and its accessories. The case has metal caps on all the corners and reinforcing along all edges, there are also wooden runners along the bottom. On both short sides are metal loops attached to the box with short leather bits that most likely were for a strap, missing. On the lid is a leather handle attached with the same metal loop-leather bit attachment - handing from those metal loops are two different travel tags with Morant’s name and title with the Canadian Pacific Railway. Various colourful travel labels and stickers are visible throughout the exterior, mostly faded and torn. The interior of the main body of the case is lined with red velvet and is divided into four compartments. One compartment has braces to hold up a small wooden box insert.The camera is a Deardorff 5x7 wooden camera that folds open to show leather bellows at least 31cm long. Also in the case are 13 separate plastic “Lisco Regal 5x7 Cut Film Holders,” a green plastic folder that may have been for a pocket calendar (“1970 DEUTSCHE ZENTRALE” is stamped in gold on the front) filled with various lens and exposures manuals, two yellow “Kodak WRATTEN FILTER” boxes - one has a red filter and the other has two pale filters - and in a wooden box is a small circular magnifying glass that folds out of a blue leather sleeve on a long black cord, a typed “PACKSACK CHECKLIST 5x7” mounted on paper in a plastic sleeve, and a small rectangular mirror in a blue plastic sleeve. There is also a narrow rectangular box with a small leather tab at the top.
