History / Biographical: Larry Emrick, journalist with the Vancouver Sun newspaper, Vancouver, B.C., was seconded to Southam News to cover the 1982 Mount Everest Expedition and to assist Bruce Patterson of the Calgary Herald, who was at the Everest Base Camp throughout the climb. Emrick and Patterson sent daily dispatches to Ottawa for inclusion in the Southam chain newspapers.
