- Louis Smaniotto, d.1926, and Rosa Smaniotto, 1889-1983, came to Bankhead, Alberta, Canada in 1909 and shortly after moved to Seebe and Exshaw, Alberta. The couple had eight children, five of whom survived infancy. Sons were Aristide (1921-1950), Americo (Jerry) (1913-1986) and Oreste (Rusty) (1914-1989); daughters were Alice and Verona (1921-2001).
