- A rectangular, linen placemat with a black boarder. The placemat contains painted images of two trains in profile, both facing the viewer-left direction. Near the top, there is a 4-4-0 steam locomotive – representing the wheel arrangement of four leading wheels on two axles, four powered and coupled driving wheels on two axles, and no trailing wheels. The locomotive leads with a pilot (cow-catcher), and has a yellow “5” within a circle near the front. The locomotive is pulling a tender (coal-car), which is mainly green and contains the text “C 129 P” painted in yellow. Underneath this train is a 4-4-2 steam locomotive – representing the wheel arrangement of four leading wheels on two axles, four powered and coupled driving wheels on two axles, and two trailing wheels on one axle. The locomotive contains the text “990” in yellow paint. The locomotive is pulling a tender (coal-car), which contains the text “G N R” in yellow paint. Between both trains, towards the viewer-left side, is the text “Canadian Pacific 1857.” in black paint.

- A matched cup (b) and saucer (a). The cup has a wide mouth, a narrow base and a shaped loop handle. Both pieces have the edges accented in gold. A narrow coloured band at the rim inside the cup and on the saucer with pointed loops hanging from this border. Both the rim of the saucer and the inside of the cup are also decorated with clusters of flowers alternating with ornate T-shaped figures connected together in a ring by curling vines. The outside of the cup has a simple gold line around the centre. Both pieces are marked “Aynsley, England”, and the saucer also has the number “06199E”.
