The white plastic power cord can be coiled up into a depressed opening on the bottom, but the cover plate is missing and the cord now hangs loose. The lid is hinged from left to right and is held closed with a gold metal clasp - when lifted up, the lid unhooks and can be fully removed. With the lid removed, the main plate of the recorder consists of silver metal and blue plastic housing with nine white plastic control buttons along the bottom and various other knobs and dials throughout.
