- The Crowfoot Glacier comprises 2/3 of the sketch. The glacier is visible running down the mountain side. The rough terrain of the mountains is depicted in various colour ranges of blue grey, reddish pinks, and yellows. A placid river runs below the mountains. A far bank is lined with a row of tall evergreens. The front shoreline is comprised of lime green grasses. A single rock juts out of the water to the right of centre.

The foreground is green grass with a road or trail going from lower right of center to the right and then back to right of center to a gate on a fence which goes across the picture a third the way up. Behind the fence at the left side are two buildings. Trees grow behind them at the center and to the right. Beyond are mountains and sky. A patch of lake can be seen right of the cabins and left of the gate.

- A daytime scene of a Stoney encampment. At the left of the painting there is a looming teepee which appears to be in the immediate foreground. The encampment forms a circle in front of the viewer with the teepees at their smallest in the distance in the middle of the painting. The teepees are a variety of colours. In the middle of the painting behind the encampment are green rolling hills and beyond the hills are grey mountains. People are milling about within the encampment. The sky is blue but across the entire top of the painting there are grey clouds.

- View of a lightly wooded field with a large blue mountain in the lefthand background. The foreground contains a grass-covered field (coloured in tans, ochre, red-brown and grey-brown) with trees scattered about. The foliage of the trees is coloured yellow, ochre and red-brown. Four of the tallest trees fill the righthand side of the picture. A small figure (clothed in black) sits sketching near the lower left corner. (The paint in this corner is in bad condition.) The large background mountain is coloured medium blue at the top, with lower slopes of green. Areas of loose rock are sketched in near the centre of the mountain; These small areas are brown-grey with touches of orange indicating (larch?) trees. The sky is light blue.

- View of a camp in a mountain valley. In the left foreground sits a large tepee. The tepee is shaded in greys with highlights in pale yellow and white. The tent flaps and opening are dark brown. Just to the left of the tepee is a grey tree stump, and part of a log cabin (with a red-brown roof and red-brown trim) is visible behind the tepee. In the background is a large pyramidal mountain whose summit (coloured white, grey, light brown and outlined in black) mirrors to a certain extent, the form of the tepee. The lower slopes of the mountain form a range which stretches across the background. These slopes are coloured ochre, tan and violet-grey, with touches of white. The base of the mountain range is dark green. Three small clouds hover in the blue sky just above the mountain.
