- Single barrel lever-action Winchester rifle with a wooden stock and grip, a brass breech and butt, and a steel barrel. The stock is studded on one side with brass tacks in the design of a star and a cross. The bullets would load through a loading gate on the side of the breech. There is a hinged metal sight on barrel that is marked with the numerals “3” and “5”. The rifle is also marked with “PW” a stylized trademark on the breech and barrel, and with the serial number “148108” on the bottom of the stock near the lever lock. This rifle has the patent date March 29, 1865. Model 1866. 44 Rim Fire. Manufactured 1877.
