- Small round deep-sided decorative ceramic dish with blue and gilded gold stripes around the rim and a picture of a portly bald man wearing purple pants and a green coat with one hand raised in a room with a table, chairs, and windows behind him - printed at the bottom is “MR PICKWICK” and “BANFF” has been written above that in gold ink. A makers mark is stamped on the bottom - online research shows this image was a popular motif with Grimwades in the mid-1900s as Mr Pickwick was the main character of Charles Dickens’ first novel, “The Pickwick Papers.”

Three bowls carry calligraphy in centre design, five carry lobster design. Exterior decoration of all bowls is geometric, diamond shapes, and abstract temmoku designs over white glaze. All have signature stamp on base.
