Fine cotton with vertical lines of embroidery running full length, high empire line, short set-in sleeves with 5.0 wide lace at sleeve opening, tightly gathered centre front skirt. Bodice 15.0 long with silk lacing to tighten. Back opening to waist with drawstring neckline and empire waistline. 24.0 long slit openings at waist both sides. Bodicelined with unbleached cotton. (b,c) ivory satin shoes, 26.0 long. Very pointed toe, narrow leather sole and heel, heel shaped, 2.0 high. (d,e) tiny white unlined leather gloves, 12.5 around palm, 13.0 from centre finger to wrist. Fine stitching with 3 decorative 4.0 long seams on back of hand, wrist closure with a snap. (f) ring cushion, 13.0x9.0x4.0, embossed satin with satin bows on each corner with tiny white shells. Shells threaded on fine wire. 2.0 long steel straight pins are stuck into pillow to form letters, one side "L'Amitie", other side appears to be "PLMS"

Description
A pair of round shallow dishes set on tall pedestals. The dishes have a bold coloured border around the rim with a series of raised relief gold dots forming a band . The centre of each plate is decorated with a sheaf of leaves, grasses and flowers. Each pedestal is a column with acanthus leaves around the top with two sculpted figures playing about the column. The column rests on a large round base, with three feet curving under, and repeats the design of plate border. Both of the plates are marked with Royal Worcester hallmarks.a) A standing cherub holding a cloth scarf is facing outward and looking down at a seated cherub that is holding a cup on the other side of the pedestal.b) A standing cherub is peeking around the pedestal at a crawling cherub.

Description
A needlepoint sampler, in many colours, done in cross-stitch on a loosely woven ecru linen. The sampler has a narrow double-stitched border with a floral band at the top followed by rows of letters of the alphabet separated by horizontal bars. Most of the letters are worked twice together through the alphabet repeating from A to D at the end, followed by another floral band as at the top, and then “Susanah Lehman November the 3 1796.” The sampler was originally framed in a simple brown wood frame with parallel line texture (wood grain?) and has a framer’s sticker on the back “The Royal Art Gallery” (Calgary, Alberta).

The alphabet is stitched with each letter worked twice, followed by the alphabet with each letter worked once until “P” at the end of the sampler where “Susana Lhaman” (sic) is stitched. The sampler was originally framed with a simple brown wood frame with parallel line texture (wood grain?).
