Description
Small round deep-sided decorative ceramic dish with blue and gilded gold stripes around the rim and a picture of a portly bald man wearing purple pants and a green coat with one hand raised in a room with a table, chairs, and windows behind him - printed at the bottom is “MR PICKWICK” and “BANFF” has been written above that in gold ink. A makers mark is stamped on the bottom - online research shows this image was a popular motif with Grimwades in the mid-1900s as Mr Pickwick was the main character of Charles Dickens’ first novel, “The Pickwick Papers.”
