Bodice 15.0 long with silk lacing to tighten. Back opening to waist with drawstring neckline and empire waistline. 24.0 long slit openings at waist both sides. Bodicelined with unbleached cotton. (b,c) ivory satin shoes, 26.0 long. Very pointed toe, narrow leather sole and heel, heel shaped, 2.0 high. (d,e) tiny white unlined leather gloves, 12.5 around palm, 13.0 from centre finger to wrist. Fine stitching with 3 decorative 4.0 long seams on back of hand, wrist closure with a snap. (f) ring cushion, 13.0x9.0x4.0, embossed satin with satin bows on each corner with tiny white shells. - A straight walking stick with an ivory knob handle joined to the wooden stick with a silver ring. The bottom tip of the cane is covered with brass. There are holes at either side of the top of the cane for a hand strap. The silver ring is inscribed with “Fort Dummer 1759 James W. Brown”.

- A long narrow fabric strip with seven pockets formed along its length. Each pocket is made of neatly handsewn pieces of differently patterned silk swatches, with the bottom pocket made of velvet. The outside of the case is covered with linen canvas covered completely with very fine cross-stitch designs of the alphabet at the top and patterned bands of flowers with a tree, bird, cat, and dog, and the initials 'ML' at the centre in traditional needlepoint sampler manner. The edges of the case have been bound with turqoise silk ribbon. There is a two-layered semicircular black wool flap at the bottom, and an arched silk-lined red velvet flap at the top.

- A needlepoint sampler, in many colours, done in cross-stitch on a loosely woven ecru linen. The sampler has a narrow double-stitched border with a floral band at the top followed by rows of letters of the alphabet separated by horizontal bars. Most of the letters are worked twice together through the alphabet repeating from A to D at the end, followed by another floral band as at the top, and then “Susanah Lehman November the 3 1796.” The sampler was originally framed in a simple brown wood frame with parallel line texture (wood grain?) and has a framer’s sticker on the back “The Royal Art Gallery” (Calgary, Alberta).

Exterior of box completely covered with veneer with marquetry of lighter veneer along edges of lid on top and outlining bevelled joints on front of box. Inside of lid parqueted with six pointed star inside oval of lighter and darker woods. Bent metal pin on lid fits into lock chamber when closed, insides have been removed.
