- A grosgrain ribbon in red and white (colours of the Austrian flag) (a) is folded into the shape of a triangle. A metal pin set with a wide pin bar is inserted into the fold and (b) a grosgrain ribbon in red and white (colours of the Austrian flag) is folded into the shape of a small bow and sewn onto a metal back of a tie-tack style (spike and clutch closure attachment) lapel pin. (a) A grosgrain ribbon in red and white (colours of the Austrian flag) is folded into the shape of a triangle. A metal pin set with a wide pin bar is inserted into the fold. The hinged pin comes through the fabric at the back displaying a barrel-type catch for closing. A silver-coloured metal hook is sewn onto the top part; this hooks through a silver-coloured rivet in the bottom of the folded triangular-shaped ribbon and attaches to a metal ring, which in turn is attached to a ring soldered to the top part of the back of a heraldic gold-coloured stylized eagle, wings outstretched, embossed with ten divisional/regimental shields, one under the head and nine on the tips of the its feathers. There is a second ring soldered onto the bottom back of the eagle, suspended from which is a gold-coloured Maltese cross with webbed design surface and a flat-surfaced Christian cross in the centre.(b) A grosgrain ribbon in red and white (colours of the Austrian flag) is folded into the shape of a small bow and sewn onto a metal back of a tie-tack style (spike and clutch closure attachment) lapel pin. The size is (2.5 wide x 1 width x 1cm deep).The medal and lapel pin are stored in a red-paper covered metal hinged box (black bottom) lined with white satin on the inside cover and white faux velvet on the container part with depressions made for the medal and the lapel pin. Gold script with the jeweller’s particulars “Friedrich Orth Wien seit 1840” is embossed on the inside cover. A heraldic eagle is embossed in gold on the top of the box lid.

(a) The lower half of the photograph is the lake and shoreline and the top half is mountains and sky. The foreground of the lake’s shore is in the shade and mostly dark, except for a bit of green vegetation in the viewer’s extreme left-hand corner and some green bushes bunched together in the lower middle. Some sunlight hits part of the brown-coloured vegetation and logs. There are parts of dark branches of a spruce tree from top to bottom on the viewer’s left; mid-centre the shore juts out and further down, a log with some branches. On the viewer’s right there are heavy green branches, the bottom part in the shade, that form part of a spruce tree from top to bottom. The lake is sunlit from the left with reflections of the mountains in the shimmering water. The shore beyond is lined with trees and the grey mountains, with some snow on the peaks, above and further to the viewer’s right, a glimpse of a glacier. On the viewer’s far right some green vegetation and than a rust-coloured moraine, leading up to a mountain barely discernable through the spruce tree branches. The sky is blue with white, puffy clouds. On the white border, printed in black script, in viewer’s left-hand bottom corner “Bow Lake, Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada”; on the white border, printed in black italics, in viewer’s right-hand bottom corner “Photo Don Harmon” and underneath it “Distributed b Byron Harmon Photos, P.O. Box 490, Banff, Alberta”. On the opposite side of the placemat is a copy of a black-and-white photograph by Byron Harmon of Crowfoot Glacier in 1917. The foreground is branches, vegetation and one large spruce tree, on the viewer’s far right, that rises almost to the top of the photograph. Mid-centre, four packhorses, carrying their diamond-hitch loads, are grazing near two spruce trees. A bank of trees behind the horses rises steadily to the viewer’s right and the giant Crowfoot Glacier, with three complete ‘toes’, to the viewer’s right and one incomplete ‘toe’ on the left, makes up the top-half, except for a bit of sky, mid-to-far left. On the white border, in viewer’s left-hand bottom corner, printed in black lettering, is “Crowfoot Glacier 1917” and on the right-hand bottom corner “Photo B. Harmon”.(b) and (c): on one side, in the middle of the placemats is a large rectangle with a white background and “Wild Flowers of the Canadian Rockies” printed in script-style, in dark pink ink. The outside edge of the placemat has 16 brown-framed boxes with pictures and the printed name of the following flowers: starting from viewer’s left top, clockwise: “Blue Flax”, “Yellow Vetch”, “Indian Paintbrush”, ”Pink Pussy Toes”, “Buffalo Berry”, “Heart-Leaf Arnica”, “Hare Bells”, “Tiger Lily”, “Sagebrush Buttercup”, “Wood Violet”, “Crocus”, “American Vetch” , “Strawberry”, “Yellow Columbine” , and “Fire Weed”. On the other other side of (b) (30.0x44.20cm wide), the photo is dominated by a summer view of Lake Louise, the Victoria Glacier behind, and the front lawn and swimming pool of Chateau Lake Louise. The foreground is made up, on viewer’s left, of: lawn and walkway, fence and lake walkway, three people walking, one person standing, one person sitting at a table, three spruce trees, three horses with riders, and red, yellow and white poppies. In the foreground, on viewer’s middle and right, are two more horses with riders, three people on the walkway, two people sitting on chairs at a table, more poppies, spruce trees and a white roofless structure, with openings all around, that surrounds a swimming pool with people, one diving in midair. The middle of the scene is the turquoise-blue waters of Lake Louise, with the reflection of Victoria Glacier, and a canoe with two people in it. The rest of the scene is mountains in shade on the viewer’s left, the sunlit Victoria Glacier in the middle, and wooded mountains to the right. The sky is a deep blue. - A small bag from Nepal, woven on the back, and woven and embroidered on the front, with a multi-coloured corded strap (135.0cm) sewn onto the side of the bag, extending from the fringed bottom 4.0cm suspended from a blue plastic bead, to an over-the-shoulder cord. The front part is backed by a black muslin cotton piece that forms a separate compartment. There is a plastic and metal black zipper (15.0cm) on the top portion of the bag (one compartment) and the same kind and size of zipper lower down (5.0cm) opening onto a separate compartment. The bottom front of the bag 13.5x15.0cm wide) is gold satin with a circular embroidered design; the top part (5.0x15.0cm wide) is a multi-coloured woven design the same as the entire back of the bag. - 19 pieces of slate and slabs of limestone containing imprints of trilobites, some whole, halves or just parts; many pieces are merely fragments of trilobites:(a) a piece of limestone 2.3cm high x 11.0x6.7cm wide, with a clear, whole, imprint of a small trilobite (3.0x2.0 cm wide); (b) a piece of limestone 2.5cm high x 17.3x7.5cm wide, with a clear, whole imprint of a small trilobite (5.7x3.0 cm wide).(c) a piece of slate 1.5 cm high x 9.7x8.0cm wide, almost whole imprints of two trilobites one (5.0x3.0 cm wide ) and the smaller one 2.0x 1.5 cm wide;(d) a piece of slate 1.20 cm high x 16.0x9.0cm wide with an almost whole, but not very clear imprint, of a trilobite, missing head 10.5x5.5cm wide;(e) a piece of limestone 2.50 cm x 11.0 high x14.5 cm wide with an almost whole imprint of a trilobite (6.9x3.8cm wide);(f) a piece of limestone 2.5cm high x 7.5x9.3 cm wide, with a partial imprint of a small trilobite (6.4x3.7 cm wide);(g) a piece of limestone 1.3cm high x 8.7x9.0 cm wide, with a partial imprint of a small trilobite (3.2x2.5 cm wide);(h) a piece of slate 2.4cm high x 7.5x8.5 cm wide, with a partial imprint of a trilobite (3.2x3.0 cm wide);(i) a piece of slate 1.80cm high x 9.0x11.0 cm wide, with an almost whole imprint of a trilobite (6.4x3.7 cm wide);(j) a piece of slate 1.20 cm high x 16.0x9.0cm wide with a partial imprint of a trilobite, missing head, 10.5x5.5cm wide. There is also a partial imprint on the back;(k) a piece of slate 2.2 cm high x 7.3x18.0cm wide with an almost whole imprint of a trilobite, 10.0x5.3cm wide. There is also two partial imprints on the back;(l) a piece of slate 1.2 cm high x 5.0x11.2 cm wide, with about one third of an imprint of a trilobite (3.2x4.5 cm wide);(m) a piece of slate .08cm high x10.3.x7.0 cm wide, with an almost whole imprint of a trilobite (3.2x.9.5x7.2 cm wide);(n) a small (0.80cm high) piece of slate 5.5x7.5 cm wide, with a partial imprint of a trilobite (4.0x5.8 cm wide);(o) a very small (0.80cm) high piece of slate 5.3x2.8 cm wide, with a partial, but very clear, imprint of a trilobite (4.5x2.7 cm wide);(p) a piece of slate 9.2x8.5 cm wide, with a few very small (almost indiscernible) traces of trilobite;(q) a piece of slate 9.5x12.8 cm wide, with a long, but very narrow, trace of the side of a trilobite;(r) a piece of slate that doesn’t seem to have anything distinguishable although it is part of a fossil;(s) a small (0.70cm high) piece of slate 3.7x3.5 cm wide, with a partial imprint of a trilobite (1.9x3.5 cm wide).
