Physical Description: Photograph Album : 1 photograph album (149 photographs, col.)

History / Biographical: Also known as "Arctic Rampage," directed by Peter Hunt in 1981 and starred Charles Bronson, Lee Marvin, and Angie Dickinson. Loosely based on the true-life story of Albert Johnson (The Mad Trapper of Rat River) who was pursued by the Mounted Police in the Northwest Territories and Yukon after shooting a police constable in 1932. Filmed entirely in the Canmore/Spray Lakes area, apart from one scene at the Athabasca Glacier, Jasper National Park. "Death Hunt" was the first film to use Canmore and the Spray Valley as primary set locations, and many locals were recruited as extras. Additionally, dog teams were brought from throughout Alberta for Mad Trapper pursuit scenes on the Spray Lakes Reservoir. Mountaineer and Association of Canadian Mountain Guide Tim Auger stood in as a body double for Bronson for some scenes.

History / Biographical: "Wild Horse Hank," 1979, directed by Eric Till and starring Linda Blair, Michael Wincott, Al Waxman, and Richard Crenna. A teenage girl works to save a group of wild horses from hunters by herding them through badlands and mountains to refuge on Federal land. Location filming for mountain scenes in southwestern Alberta, mostly around Pincher Creek and the Crowsnest Pass, and Badlands and desert scenes filmed in Dinosaur Provincial Park and Nevada.

Scope & Content: File pertains to 432 colour prints of production photos from the shoot of "Wild Horse Hank," consisting of portraits of the cast and crew, action shots from filming, a small plane, horses, fight scenes, scenic landscapes around sets, buildings, horses and horse corrals, and more.

The Maycroft Ski Meet was an annual community event held on a hill near the Oldman River that operated as part of carnival events that tied with the crowning of a Carnival Queen at the Banff Winter Carnival. Participants were towed up the hill with a rope tow operated by a tractor. The Meets were eventually phased out following the openin of the (then named) West Castle Mountain Ski Hill in 1965.
