Includes magazines articles, periodicals, conference materials, etc. with notes; some incoming correspondence, poetry by others, photographs.
Original series 2: Alphabetical files, [ca.1970-1991]; predominant 1980s, 184 original files, consists of reference files established to organize Whyte's reference materials of people, organizations and topics. Includes Whyte's letters, articles, writings, and notes; research photocopies and photographic copies (of material dating from after 1880); published ephemera; incoming letters, etc. Files pertain to Canadian Rockies personalities; conservation and heritage organizations; Jon Whyte projects; Banff history and heritage; national parks; mountains; Canadian Rockies natural and human history.
