Description
A white paper card with a vertical cutout window that displays a piece of red, white and green cotton weaving on a Christmas theme: a star with patterns surrounding it. The cutout window is rimmed by a gold-coloured border. The paper is folded in three parts. The first piece is folded over and glued; it encases the piece of woven fabric that appears as the vertical shape on the front. The back is glued too, but opens slightly on the bottom to read the printing, viewer’s left, “THE DESIGN ON THIS CARD IS A 19TH CENTURY COVERLET PATTERN CALLED STAR OF BETHLEHEM” On the back printed in pencil “EILEEN HETT” and underneath ”E14-#1 - 83”. On the lhbc manufacturer’s printing “G & S DYE & ACC. ART NO. 2001”
