- Born and raised in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Margo Talbot grew up with a distant mother who “ruled the household with her eyes”; a father who opted to spend much of his time away from home; and four siblings struggling to deal with their particular domestic situation. As a result of her family’s dysfunction and her own growing mental illness, young Margo rarely smiled, had difficulty connecting with others, and was plagued with a black wave of anger and sadness that overshadowed much of the world around her. In time, drugs, alcohol, sex, and violence became her primary ways to connect with herself and others. From the depths of suicidal depression and a conversation with Death, Talbot eventually found solace and redemption in both the healing power of nature and the glory of climbing frozen landscapes in some of the world’s most pristine and challenging environments. - Small round twined basket with rounded base and high sides closing in slightly at the mouth, natural buff colour background with brown design and black accents, design repeated three times around sides is of four brown parallelograms stacked on one another in stairlike fashion moving up to the right, with serrated edges of black-tipped triangles along the sides and narrow black lines between each parallelogram. Between each steplike series on the buff background is an oblique double zig-zag line running from bottom to top of the basket. Lip is finished with three rows of twining of a lighter brown colour, pattern not visible on inside. Paper tag rimmed with metal is attached with cord and wax through lip of basket; no writing is visible.

- A fireplace bellows with each side made from wood cut in a tear shape. There are two flat rectangular handles cut at the blunt end and the pointed end has a long, tapering, protruding metal tube. A leather diaphragm between the two sides is tacked along the edges of the wood and pleated over two small round branches bent to follow shape of wooden sides. There is leather strapping on one side of the wood at the pointed end as reinforcement. A round hole is cut in the middle of other side of wood, and fitted with a metal collar, and has a leather disphragm inside for air intake.
