- File pertains to a photograph album depicting trips taken by Lillian Gest, usually during the summer, from 1934-1937. The 1934 trip was part of the Alpine Club of Canada Annual Camp in northern Jasper National Park - starting in the Eremite Mountain area and working east towards Mount Edith Cavell. Also includes a few photographs of mountains around the Banff town area. The 1935 trip was part of the ACC Annual Camp in the Mt. Assiniboine and East Kootenay areas. Also includes newspaper clippings pertaining to Club activities and greeting cards from Club members. The photographs associated with the Yoho Icefields from Bow Lake trip are most likely from the summer of 1936 based on greeting cards labelled as such, but very few of the photographs themselves are annotated. The remainder of the album is dedicated to the 1937 trips to Mt. Trident, Mt. Bryce, the Columbia Icefield area, Bryce and Zion, Utah, the Boulder Dam, Arizona, and Colorado. Also includes Christmas cards from 1937 from various friends and Club members. Inserts pertain to the overview/advertisements for the summer 1937 and 1938 trips that would have been sent out by Caroline Hinman in advance detailing routes, expectations, and prices ; a small photograph with a written note on the back, a letter addressed to Lillian Gest from the Springfield Television Broadcasting Corp, and a handwritten list of details pertaining to the summer 1934 trip orgainized by Caroline Hinman.

- Allan E. Crawford (1900-1989) of Calgary, Alberta and Prince Rupert, British Columbia, was a member of the Sky Line Trail Hikers from 1937 to 1946 and was the "Official Musician of the Sky Line Trail Hikers" in 1937, 1938, 1940, and 1941. He also participated in Trail Riders of the Canadian Rockies trips from 1937, 1938, 1940, 1941 as their musician. Allan E. Crawford appeared on Calgary radio station CFCN "The Voice of the Prairies" on a live weekly program, with the music trio "The Gamboliers" playing the accordian with Eddie Clemens on guitar and J.E. Gerke on vocals. Allan also played the organ, piano and harmonica.

Canadian Rockies Summer of 1932 depicts what is possibly an Alpine Club of Canada organized climb around the Mt. Sir Donald and Mt. Dawson area of British Columbia. Includes mountain views, portraits, people climbing, glaciers, and an ACC Annual Camp. Hinman Horseback and Camping Trip - July 1-17 [1932] depicts the annual backcountry horse trip organized by Caroline Hinman around the Mt. Assiniboine and East Kootenay areas of British Columbia. Includes scenic views, horses, camps, portraits, and two pages dedicated to the Hinman Party in August - it is not clear if Lillian Gest participated in the whole of Caroline Hinman's summer 1932 trip. At the Alpine Club Camp depicts the ACC Annual Camp for 1932, based in Glacier, BC. Includes the ACC camp, mountains, glaciers, portraits, scenic views, climbing, swimming, Abbot Pass Hut, Glacier Circle Cabin, enlargements, and greeting cards. Following the annotated ACC trip photographs are a collection of greeting cards, newspaper clippings, and misc. photographs from Gest's various trips during the summer of 1932. Most of these photographs are not annotated. Also includes greeting cards from trip members and a memorial card for Conrad Kain fixed to the inside back cover. Inserts 1 and 3 pertain to the overview/advertisement for the Summer 1932 and 1933 trips that would have been sent out by Caroline Hinman in advance detailing routes, expectations, and prices. Insert 2 pertains to a clipped page from what is possibly an ACC or Trail Riders of the Canadian Rockies periodical.

The summer trip, made on horseback and by dogsled, began in Seebe, Alberta and ended at Lake Windermere, British Columbia, working through Banff National Park via Lake Louise, Abbot Pass, and the Lake O'Hara region. Includes scenic views of mountains, waterfalls, glaciers, camps, horses, dogs, and people - many of whom are reffered to by their initials or married names (in the case of some women). The hunting trip was possibly organized by Tom Wilson out of his Kananaskis Ranch. The party travelled north in the direction of the Saskatchewan River. Includes pictures of camps, horses, pack trains, snowfall, mountains, rivers, and people - does not include photographs of hunted animals. Also includes a single photograph of The Learned's House in Newbury Port, Massachusetts, enlargements from Rocky Mountain trips, and various cards from The Vincents and Florence Dibell Bartlett. Inserts pertain to overviews/advertisements for two 1927 trips that would have been sent out by Caroline Hinman in advance detailing routes, expectations, and prices.

- Dimitri Georgevitch de Leuchtenberg (1898-1972), Duke of Leuchtenberg was a member of the Franco-Russian Beauharnais house. In 1927 the Marquis Nicholas degli Albizzi invited Dimitri and his wife Catherine (1900-1991) to join him for the summer at the cabin he had subleased from A.O. Wheeler at Mount Assiniboine. Albizzi and Dimitri were cousins. The Duke and Duchess de Leuchtenberg lived in Germany following the Russian Civil War and in 1931 began annual winter trips to Quebec to visit Albizzi and his new winter sports station in Saint-Sauveur-des-Monts in the Laurentians mountains in Quebec. The Duke worked for Albizzi as a ski school instructor. In 1937 he was chosen to be a member of the Canadian Ski School Committee and in 1938 was a founding member of the Ski Instructor's Alliance. In 1939 the Duke de Leuchtenberg bought the Saint-Sauveur station from Albizzi and moved his family permanently to Quebec, Canada.

Photographs pertain to a trip through Banff to Mount Assiniboine by the Duke Dimitri and Duchess Catherine Leuchtenberg in 1927. - File pertains to a photograph album depicting the 1930 Summer Trip to Switzerland and England (including Geneva, Grindelwald, Zermatt, Saas-Fee, Lucerne, Basle, Grasmere, and Keswick), a camping/horseback trip in July 1931, and the annual Alpine Club of Canada Camp in August 1931. The 1930 Summer Trip started in Switzerland before moving over to England and was most likely a Gest family vacation. Includes photographs taken by Lillian Gest and her travel companions as well as purchased souvineer photographs. Also includes various greeting cards. The July 1931 trip consisted of travel mainly on horseback throught the Mt. Assiniboine area into Wolverine Pass, organized by Caroline Hinman and corresponds with the insert. Due to the limited number of pages dedicated to this trip, it is possibly Lillian Gest only attended part of it before connecting with the Alpine Club of Canada Annual Camp. The Annual Alpine Club of Canada Camp (called the Canadian Alpine Club by Gest), July 21 to August 2, 1931 took place throughout the Lake O'Hara and Prospector's Valley regions of British Columbia. Photographs include scenic views, camps, horses, wildlife, group portraits, Fay Hut, glaciers, and various club activities. Also includes greeting cards from various people who went on trips. Insert pertains to the overview/advertisement for the Summer 1931 trip that would have been sent out by Caroline Hinman in advance detailing routes, expectations, and prices.
