A landscape oil painting. In the background is a blue sky with big fluffy white clouds and a mountain range with rolling hills in front. After the hills is a line of forest and in the foreground are two small ponds separated by a thin strip of land with tall grass and the ponds are surrounded by a lone, green pine tree on the left and three golden-leaved poplar trees on the right. The artist signature is painted in the bottom rhc in red, “DUNCAN /81”. Au verso, on the top edge of the canvas in black pen is written, “EARLY AUTUMN, MORLEY, ALBERTA”. Description
Two crocus flowers with stems and leaves, and some grass and stems on a black background. The crocus in the foreground is drooping to the viewer’s left; the open/inside part of the petals are lilac, the underside/outside are purple and the centres yellow and gold. The crocus on top is turned away from the viewer showing mostly the outside of the petals and some yellow inside. The crocus stems and feathery leaves are green and brown. The other grasses and stems are rust, yellow and brown.

Description
General colours orange, green, yellow, brown, grey and white on a black background. A single wood lily with stem and leaves and other stems/grass. The single flower head is centred but leaning toward the viewer’s left. The petals are light and dark orange, dots of brown as they turn yellow towards the base. The petals narrow on the ends and at the base giving a see-through aspect; the black background is visible through the base of the flower head. The stamens are brown and grey and the stems is two shades of green. The narrow, long leaves are light green with darker green running through. There are other stems or grasses of white and green.
