- History / Biographical
- Samuel Livingston (1831-1897) was born in Ireland, and immigrated to North America as a young man to participate in the California Gold Rush of 1849. Sam continued travelling and panning for gold around the northwestern United States and southern British Columbia area in the 1850s and 1860s. After marrying Jane Howse in 1865, Sam settled near Elbow River and established a buffalo skin trading business. Sam and Jane had 14 children together, including 8 sons and 6 daughters. In 1876, Sam and his family moved closer to Fort Calgary, where he worked with John Glenn and became one of the first farmers in the area. Sam was a founding director of the Calgary District Agricultural Society in 1884, as well as founding director of the Calgary branch of the Canadian North-West Territories Stock Association in 1886. Sam was also an early trustee for the Glenmore School in 1888.

- File consists of one photograph album containing 62 print photographs [40 b&w, 22 colour] including some in loose envelopes inside album, 2 newspaper clippings and a Banff Minor Hockey green ribbon from 1968. Content pertains to members of the Banff hockey teams who played between 1908 and ca. 1980. Includes group shots of hockey teams in various years, some featuring Jack MacAulay as coach; individual portraits and posed photographs, including Herb MacAulay ca. 1965; print depicting Herb Ollis feeding a bear in 1938; and 2 newspaper clippings from 1979 pertaining to Banff's hockey team. - Frederick Albert Woodworth (August 8, 1895 - April 16, 1916) was the fifth child of eleven, born to parents Elizabeth and Benjamin Woodworth in the town of Banff. Fred Woodworth worked as an electrician in the mines at Bankhead prior to joining the war effort in February 1915. Fred was shot by enemy fire on April 16, 1916 and is now buried in Ypres, Belgium. Fred has a second memorial located in the Woodworth family section of the Banff Town Cemetery.

Content pertains to a community Christmas dinner event at the King Edward Hotel in Banff; loose poetry, handwritten; postcards sent to Benjamin Sr., Maud and Ethel Woodworth, between 1906 and ca. 1915; a copy of the newsletter "Trench Echo" from the 27th Battalion in Winnipeg from 1915; a dinner banquet menu/programme for the 56th Overseas Battalion dated 1916; a news clipping announcing the marriage of Ted and Minnie Davidson, ca. 1915; two pages of a June 7, 1888 publication of the "National Park Life" newspaper; an invitation to the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Ladies Auxiliay Annual Ball 1914; and a news clipping of a memorial article for Frederick Woodworth who was killed in action during World War I.

- Adelia Woodworth Nickerson (1902 - 1977) was the ninth child of Elizabeth and Benjamin F. Woodworth, and was born and raised in Banff. Adelia married Nick Nickerson and later moved to Prince Rupert, British Columbia.

- File consists of one scrapbook produced by Adelia Woodworth and dated 1915. Scrapbook was previously used as a minutes book for community meetings held in Banff. First 10 pages contain news clippings and various typed poems and songs, as well as paper images of King Edward VII, flags of the world and a loose page from the Artistic Publishing Co., Ltd in London. The following 76 pages contain minutes and general notes from meetings in Banff from 1892-1895, naming R.G. Brett, Benjamin Woodworth Sr. and others. Two pages near end of book have additional notes on Australian Cadets.
