- Humphrey Prideaux (1648-1724) was born in Cornwall and eventually became a Doctor of Divinity. Prideaux was an author of multiple textual works pertaining to faith and particularly Christianity. He was the Dean of Norwich from 1702 until his death in 1724.

From 1946 to 1979 it was known as Mount Eisenhower in honour of war veteran, General Dwight D. Eisenhower. - James Geddes (1836-1908) and Jessie Geddes (née Dick Wares, 1836-1920) were both born in Wick, Caithness, Scotland and were married in Edinburgh in 1865. James and Jessie were the parents of Malcolm Daniel Geddes, as well as his siblings Daniel, James William and Jessie Esther. Following the family's move to Canada in 1877, James Geddes worked as a farmer and lay preacher in Ontario.
