History / Biographical
Humphrey Prideaux (1648-1724) was born in Cornwall and eventually became a Doctor of Divinity. Prideaux was an author of multiple textual works pertaining to faith and particularly Christianity. He was the Dean of Norwich from 1702 until his death in 1724.

Banff Winter Carnival, also known as Winter Sports of the Canadian Rockies, was the first post-war winter sports programme held in Banff, Alberta. The organization had Banff directors, Calgary directors and Directors-at-large from Alberta and outside the province. A wide variety of social and sports events took place under the organization's direction.

Records were filed in an envelope that was titled "Book Notes." Notable people include James Wardle, J.B. Harkin, Pat Brewster, Arthur Unwin, Dr. Brett, Norman Sanson, and Bill Peyto, among others. Notable places and topics include the organization of the Department of the Interior, the Banff-Windemere Highway, Rocky Mountain Park and Park Wardens, Kootenay National Park fires, coal and precious metal mines (e.g. Bankhead, Silver City), trail riding and hiking, research about James Wardle and his accomplishments, Ya-Ha-Tinda, and various parks (e.g. Glacier, Revelstoke, Elk Island, Kootenay, and Yoho). File consists of documents pertaining to the "Buffalo Medicine" charm manufactured and distributed by the Parks publicity bureau from 1920-1922. The charm was a small metal piece housed in a paper pouch and accompanied by a leaflett that related the legend of the charm. The charms were made in batches of 10,000 and were popular collectors items. The first batch made in 1920 were made of alluminum, but the design was changed for the second and final issue. Includes a typed letter to Jim Sime from Fergus Lothian regarding the charm and material related to early Park fire prevention ; the leaflet that accompanied a "Buffalo Medicine" charm ; a typed text page meant to accompany the charm while on display.

The charm and its original pouch are now housed in Heritage Collection.
