- Banff National Park Municipal Hospital District No. 71, established 1955, administered hospital taxation at Banff, Alberta, Canada. In 1954, the Sisters of St. Martha, the religious order that operated the Mineral Springs hospital, presented the people of Banff with an ultimatum. Construction of a new hospital would only proceed with the support of the community through the Province of Alberta's "Dollar a Day Plan". A successful plebiscite in 1955 provided the necessary local support for a municipal hospital district and the new Mineral Springs Hospital building opened in 1958. From 1955 until his death in 1959, R. E. W. (Ralph) Edwards was Secretary-Treasurer of the Banff National Park Municipal Hospital District.

National Parks and Historic Sites Division records, 1956-1959, 5.5.cm; and III. Other material, 1939-1959, 2.5 cm. The latter series includes some records of the Banff Advisory Council, 1939-ca.1958.
