The shape of the base is rectangular with one large wood plaque on the front that reads “Catharine Whyte Memorial Trophy, 1906 - 1979” directly under this are five smaller shield shaped plaques. Standing on top of the base and made out of bronze is a male skier. This male skier is leaning against his skies with one arm wrapped around them . In the other hand, that is placed close to his hip, he holds both ski poles. This man is wearing short pants, a jacket and a peaked cap. Following Catharine’s death in the spring of 1979, one of Charlie Beil’s “King Edward Hotel” trophies was re-activated by Doug Robinson and Roy Andersen as the Catharine Whyte Memorial Trophy. The original trophy was sculpted by Charlie Beil in 1936. The Catharine Whyte Memorial Trophy was awarded to the senior veteran skier annually, sponsored by Roy Andersen until 1993, when the trophy was retired, and put on display in the Whyte Home.
