Description
A pair of heavily beaded eagle design glove gauntlets. Were made for gloves, but either the gloves were never made, most likely, or wore out. The gauntlets have buckskin backs, white buckskin fringe and lining of cotton. The eagle design is a very handsome, black eagle with white markings visible under upraised wings, yellow bill, eye, legs, white fan tail with black end feathers, all on a brilliant red ground bordered by alternate rows of black and white beads. Description
A heavy buckskin belt with commercial buckle added to it, and home studded with brass studs for most of its length. To the belt have been added rectangles of catlinite, each of which has been thonged to the belt proper, and each of which bears a different image, geometric motif canoe turtle geometric bird buffalo skull heart with arrow tepee and geometric design. Alternating with catlinite are commercial brass buttons in five different designs, two of which have eagle's heads on them, one of which shows a hound chasing a rabbit into a stump, and the other six bearing an impressed geometric pattern.
