- Unvarnished, hand carved box, lid inset inside box rim, unhinged. Box is flat based with sides sitting on base edge, exterior roughly carved, inside straight sided. Lid French Canadian rural scene with man in horse drawn sleigh. Torn sticker that was removed indicated Canadian manufacture. Dark stain at horse's head. Carved on lid is "Ardin"(?)

- Octagonal, lidded box with inset tray resting on same rim as lid rests on. Flat base and straight walls which are gold/black speckled lacquer. On lid: 2 Chinese lions, one white, one black - playfully fighting,underside of lid and tray, they are resting, in base peony, handles also peony in brass. Mauve cord passes through handles.
