Description
A banjo clock of dark brown varnished wood with a rectangular door with a wooden panel at the base and a hook latch at the side opens to reveal a pendulum and a winding key. A tall narrow central wooden panel at the stem is flanked by curved brass pieces that stretch the entire length. The face dial has Roman numerals, illegible lettering, and a brass framed clear glass door which unlatches by push button on one side. There is a carved flame shaped finial at the top of the clock.

Description
A banjo clock with the front of the frame completely gilded. The clock has a rectangular glass door at the bottom, painted with a battle scene between two tall ships, opens to reveal a pendulum (push button release on side of clock). The tall rectangular stem has a glass panel painted with entwined U.S. emblems (shield, etc.). The clock’s round face is covered with clear glass and has a Roman numeral dial. The top of the clock has a gilt eagle finial. The face plate is marked “J.A. Willard Boston”.
