- A pair of round-tipped snowshoes. Each snowshoe has a bent wood frame screwed together at the tail, wooden cross braces, is strung quite openly with rawhide strips, and has woven canvas tie-on straps (homemade harness). The initials “P.A.M.” (Philip Augustus Moore) are scratched into the front crossbrace of each snowshoe.

- Description
- Two pairs of slightly pointed snowshoes. Each snowshoe has a bent wood frame nailed together at the tail, is braced with flat carved pieces of wood and strung with sinew in a closely laced pattern in three areas. There are tufts of red wool nailed to the outside of the frame around the tip and at the back as decoration on each snowshow. One pair, (a,b), has a homemade harness of white woven tie-on straps. The initials “RB” are are written on the side of (c).

Large brass buckles fasten throat latch and browband. Long, 104.0 cm. woven blue reins attached to brass rings at bit by brown leather straps. Ends straps and buckle holes reinforced with leather.

LUX/I/E4/PA-72 to 85 depict unnamed individuals in boats and canoes, as well as river and lake scenes [ca.1900-1910]; LUX/I/E4/PA-86 to 114 depict model ships and scenes from a trip to Newfoundland, including images of Ernest Maunder and "Commander Grahame". Numerous photographs are annotated on the back by Ernest Maunder with details including dates and locations of photographs, names, and dimensions of model ships. File also contains scanned copy of letter dated December 7, 1932 from Ernest Maunder to Norman Luxton pertaining to his ship modelling hobby and planned work on a model ship requested by Norman [possibly referring to photograph LUX/I/E4/PA-96].
