The institute was incorporated into the University of Calgary in 1976. - The Alberta Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star is a charitable foundation based in Alberta which was first formed in 1912. The organization supports various local, national and international causes through fundraising initiatives, and draws inspiration for this work through biblical teachings. Current initiatives as of 2019 include scholarship programs for the University of Lethbridge and the University of Calgary. Membership is restricted to masons by trade [males] and to female spouses or family members of masons.
