- Margaret Gold Brine, 1898-1985, born in Fort Langley, B.C. was educated at the University of Alberta earning her Master's in languages. She taught at the University of Alberta from 1924 to ca.1928. She married Charles Brine in 1928. Margaret Gold Brine climbed in the Canadian Rockies and the Alps with ascents that included Mount Edmonton, Mount Assiniboine, Mount Robson and Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn.

- Personal diary pertaining to packing and leaving from Dehra Dun, travel to Bombay with leisure and description of travel mates, travel on ship S. S. Dunera and description of passengers. Daytrip in Columbo, travel through Singapore, Hong Kong, interaction with Prince and Princess of Barcleu [?]. Police and Doctors in Nagasaki performed extensive examinations.
- Uneventful crossing to Victoria, drive to Sidney. Leisure, dances, lunches, theatre. Trip to Vancouver, Walhachin, stayed with friends in Shaughnessy Heights, visited Jerico Club. Trip to Jasper via Prince Rupert, hiking, camping, Fortress Lake, Snow Creek.
- Travel from Jasper to Banff, through Edmonton and Calgary. Stayed at Alpine Club House in Banff, which was busy because of poor weather at Assiniboine. Climbed Mt. Edith, stayed at Sunshine Camp, Golden Valley, Assiniboine. Picture glued in of Lake Magog, annotated with mountain peaks. Banff, climbed Rundle, leisure, staying at clubhouse, picnic on Bow river, Sulphur Mountain climb.
- Travel from Banff to Winnipeg to Toronto, to Ottawa, Montreal, New York, board ship S. S. Baltic to Liverpool. Trip into London, dealing with clothing, camera, surveying equipment, trips to India Office, leisure with Dolly. Boat trip to Venice, trip to Suez, to Bombay and return to Dehra Dun. "Altogether a most excellent leave, though somewhat expensive!"
