- File pertains to a photograph album depicting a summer 1926 trip organized by Caroline Hinman to the Canadian Rockies and a hunting trip from Wilson's Ranch in September, 1926. The summer trip, made on horseback and by dogsled, began in Seebe, Alberta and ended at Lake Windermere, British Columbia, working through Banff National Park via Lake Louise, Abbot Pass, and the Lake O'Hara region. Includes scenic views of mountains, waterfalls, glaciers, camps, horses, dogs, and people - many of whom are reffered to by their initials or married names (in the case of some women). The hunting trip was possibly organized by Tom Wilson out of his Kananaskis Ranch. The party travelled north in the direction of the Saskatchewan River. Includes pictures of camps, horses, pack trains, snowfall, mountains, rivers, and people - does not include photographs of hunted animals. Also includes a single photograph of The Learned's House in Newbury Port, Massachusetts, enlargements from Rocky Mountain trips, and various cards from The Vincents and Florence Dibell Bartlett. Inserts pertain to overviews/advertisements for two 1927 trips that would have been sent out by Caroline Hinman in advance detailing routes, expectations, and prices.

- Dimitri Georgevitch de Leuchtenberg (1898-1972), Duke of Leuchtenberg was a member of the Franco-Russian Beauharnais house. In 1927 the Marquis Nicholas degli Albizzi invited Dimitri and his wife Catherine (1900-1991) to join him for the summer at the cabin he had subleased from A.O. Wheeler at Mount Assiniboine. Albizzi and Dimitri were cousins. The Duke and Duchess de Leuchtenberg lived in Germany following the Russian Civil War and in 1931 began annual winter trips to Quebec to visit Albizzi and his new winter sports station in Saint-Sauveur-des-Monts in the Laurentians mountains in Quebec. The Duke worked for Albizzi as a ski school instructor. In 1937 he was chosen to be a member of the Canadian Ski School Committee and in 1938 was a founding member of the Ski Instructor's Alliance. In 1939 the Duke de Leuchtenberg bought the Saint-Sauveur station from Albizzi and moved his family permanently to Quebec, Canada.

- File consists of one photograph album, comprising ca. 432 photographs, 10.5 x 16 cm or smaller. Photographs pertain to a trip through Banff to Mount Assiniboine by the Duke Dimitri and Duchess Catherine Leuchtenberg in 1927. Topics include New Yea's Eve celebrations, going to the movies, spending time on the beach, painting/sketching [including experimenting with watercolour paints and different kinds of paper], people and events in Concord and in Banff, descriptions of Honolulu and the local people [including dress, food, and boats], weather, watching US Navy ships and planes come in and out of Pearl Harbor, listening to the radio [mostly news and operas], sketching people on the beach, the other guests at their hotel, going out for meals, celebrating Pete's birthday, descriptions of meals, planning their trip to Japan, painting portraits of locals, making canvases and easels, developing films [photographs], the Moores and the Rungiuses arriving in early February, shopping, watching various military Reviews and parades [usually as part of ceremonies for visiting dignitaries], descriptions of various ships in port, flowers and trees, birds, showing some of their work at the Art Academy at the invitation of the Honolulu Art Association in early March, going to cocktail parties and dances with the Moores and Rungiuses, booking their passage to Japan with Canadian Pacific, and leaving Hawaii in mid-March.

- Please note: language pertaining to Indigenous Peoples used throughout is outdated and may be offensive. Few letters written on hotel/ship letterhead. Some letters contain small sketches of hotel/motel layouts, road layouts, and room/ship cabin details. Most letters are numbered in red pencil crayon in the upper margin of the first page as part of an unknown project. Some letters are marked with a small x in pencil, indicating where Jon Whyte made notes for use in his project "Catharine Robb Whyte, Peter Whyte: Commemorative Portfolio," originally published in 1981. 93 - 05 page 5 contains a sketch of the Moana Hotel's placement and general laylout in relation to the beach.

Topics include returning from a trip out east by train, going to Skoki for a few days in April [including updates on the new camp buildings and access road], weather, skiing and ski conditions, film-making, visits from friends and visitors, matters pertaining to the house [opening and closing it as they come and go from various trips], errand trips to Calgary, watching hockey games, going to the movies, leaving for Hawaii via Vancouver in early May [sailing on the Empress of Canada], books Catharine and Edith are reading, arriving in Hawaii and eventually getting settled at the Grand Hotel in Wailuku, Maui, visiting with friends, descriptions of meals, photography and cameras, relocating to the Moana Hotel in Honolulu in mid-May, sightseening and day trips around the islands, sketching, descriptions of other ships coming and going from the harbour, details of the trip back to Banff in mid-June, radio programs [mostly news and operas], cleaning and household chores, events and people in Concord, camping trips, maintenance and upkeep of the house and property, painting/sketching, various holidays [both Canadian and American], the Calgary Stampede, Banff Indian days, the annual Skyline Trail Hikers trip [based out of Lake O'Hara] in early August, matters pertaining to the store, Edith purchasing a painting of two moose from Carl Rungius, developing photographs, a two-week trip to Lake O'Hara in late August/early September to paint and hike [also includes details of other people there, day to day activies, and the subjects painted/sketched], day trips around the national park to take photographs and hike [mostly in the Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, and Bow Lake areas], and preparing for a trip out to Concord at the end of October.
