- A metal soap box with painted advertisement on the lid. The rectangular lid is outlined in white with black lettering on top “SOAP MADE IN CANADA” and on the bottom “CONTAINER LITHOGRAPHED AND MADE IN THE U.S.A.” an oval outlined in red, in black lettering “PACKER’S TAR SOAP” a yellow crest with black lettering inside “THE PACKER CO., LTD. MONTREAL” with ten different countries’ coloured flags, five on either side, below this “REG. U.S. TRADE MARK PAT. OFF.” In each corner of the whole label on a black background printed in white: left top corner “PURE AS”, right top corner “THE PINES”, right bottom, “TOILET NURSERY” left bottom, “SHAMPOOING BATH”. On the other portion of the box in black lettering left side “THIS BOX contains a cake of the genuinePacker’s Tar Soap, as made by us for more than 60 years. It is now packed in a metal box so that it s use may prove of greater convenience both at home , and in your travels. Keep the soap in this metal box. THE PACKER MFG. CO. INC. New York, N.Y. U.S.A. “,”1130” in the middle, and then on the right hand side “SUGGESTIONS”, an arrow down, “TO REMOVE the soap , press lightly one end of the cake, then the other - and turn the box upside down BEFORE REPLACING in box, shake water from the hand and soap. Undue moisture in box wastes soap. TO REPLACE COVER, hold bottom and top of box as if hinged at one end - then let cover down slowly.”
