- A hinged flat Player’s cigarette box made out of metal. It was commonly known as a Players Flat 50. The box is light blue with gold and red edging. The Players logo (a white life preserver with red lettering “PLAYERS NAVY CUT” with a seaman in the centre, and the sea and two sailing ships beyond, is in the left corner, “Players” in black and red script, and “NAVY CUT CIGARETTES “MEDIUM” “ in the right hand corner. There is a remnant of the paper excise tax stamp in black and white. On the top part of the gold-coloured bottom in black writing “OPENING RIBBON” and then an arrow pointing right followed by “PAT’D 1934-35” and on the bottom “MANUFACTURED BY IMPERIAL TOBACCO CO. OF CANADA, LIMITED, MONTREAL, CANADA SUCCESSOR TO JOHN PLAYER 7 SONS, ENGLAND.
