File pertains to the founding, early years, and community impact of Carleton College, including instructor profiles, corporation and registration, a tribute to Dr. H.M. Tory (college head), and Dorothy's personal experiences and memories while working at the college from 1942-1944 as the first secretary. - Sol Lipkind was an active participant and member of the Trail Riders of the Canadian Rockies. Lipkind served as Chairman of the Executive Committee in 1971 and as President of the Trail Riders in 1972. Sol Lipkind's son, Joel Lipkind, served as President of the organization in 1980 and 1981. Sol also owned and managed the Ribtor Warehouse in Calgary.

- Noel Odell (1890 - 1987) was a geologist and mountaineer. Noel was born and educated in England, and became an avid climber in the United Kingdom, joining the Alpine Club in 1916. Noel is known primarily for his involvement in the 1924 Everest expedition, during which two climbers, Andrew Irvine and George Mallory, died during their summit attempt. In 1936, Noel and fellow climber Bill Tilman summited Nanda Devi in India, which at the time was the highest completed summit in the world. Noel served with the Royal Engineers in World War I and II, worked as a petroleum and mining consultant, and taught geology at various universities around the world.
