Description
Pencil sketches relating to the Blind Date (John Windsor) book illustrations on a piece of torn paper. In top centre is a rectangle that contains a rough illustration of troops marching off into the distance, a military tank, and illegible scribbles likely to represent text. Beside this rectangle, a military figure strides away from the viewer, carrying a bayonet on his right shoulder. Below these are two indistinguishable sketches and a line of four marching soldiers with bayonets. Description
Ink drawing of three men in military uniform. Two of the men are normally scaled, but the third, central figure is scaled so that his head only reaches the knee of the other two men. All are wearing dark trousers, and what appears to be a belted military coats with large buttons. Their pillbox caps sit on the sides of their heads. All stand with perfect posture, but the third miniature figure’s back is to the viewer. The initials P.W. appear to the bottom right of the drawing, near the rightmost figure’s feet. In the top right corner there are pencil sketches of the back view of these soldier’s heads and upper bodies. The words CHAPTER 2 (circled) appear above these pencil sketches.
