Description: Government issue brown parka with removable hood and zip in down lining. Brown outer jacket is weatherproof and can be worn alone, 4 pockets with button-down flaps at front, set in sleeves with one button cuffs, drawstring on inside at waist, large Lightening zipper at front opening with buttoned storm flap. Hood attaches with 3 snaps and has snaps on back at front to close at neckline, lining and interlining in hood. Long sleeved separate vest with down lining is of beige nylon, has elastic cuffs on sleeves and around neck, zips into outer jacket for cold weather wear. Outer jacket has embroidered crests sewn on at top of sleeves, badges are dark brown with gold colour around edges and "National Parks Canada" in gold embroidered in the shield shaped badge. Over left pocket is rectangle badge in brown and gold with "J. Deegan" embroidered on it.

Ring surrounded by enamel silver crown. Suspension ring attached to medal is connected to a pin backing, under a concealed portion of a red and white striped taffeta ribbon bow. Pin backing reveals horizontal pin. Encased in black leatherette hinged box with clasp and velvet and satin lining. Satin lining printed with coat of arms and bilingual "By appointment to H.M. The Queen, Goldsmiths & Crown Jewelers, Garrard & Co. Ltd. 112 Regent Street, London, W1". Small pin (b) is miniaturized white enamel snowflake with inset sterling maple leaf.

Description: Two Parks Canada Mountain Guide badges, one (a) from 1978-79, the other (b) from 1979-80. The badges are similar in that they are the same size and shape, rectangular with rounded corners, plastic coated fronts and metal backs with a horizontal pin set, safety-pin type of clasp with a u-type closure for the pin. Instead of being soldered to the back, the pin is inserted through and under the backing through two holes.(a) is navy blue (lettering, imaging and numbers) on white background, Parks Canada logo of left bar of Canadian flag and maple leaf in lhc, “Parks Canada” in the middle, “Parcs Canada” rhc.
