- History / Biographical
- Mary Thomson Allan, 1913-1989, was a poet and homemaker at Banff and Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Mary Thomson was born in Banff, where her mother, Jeannie Thomson, ran the Cave and Basin Teahouse. In the 1980s Allan was involved in the Save the Cave and Basin Committee. Allan wrote poetry starting in the 1930s. A number of her poems were published in periodicals and anthologies during the 1950s to 1970s, and a selection, titled "The Inward Trail", was published posthumously in 1992. "Banff Collections and Recollections" was in process when Allan died and editing was continued by her daughter, Jannis Hare.

- Miss Grant Kimball, of 2200 Block 14 A St. S.W. Calgary, Alberta, worked for the government seed sorting and grading office, which may have had offices in the old Post Office Building, 8 Ave. & 1st St. S.E. Calgary. Kimball never married, she was Rosicrusian and occasionally travelled to group headquarters in California for annual picnics. Her father worked for CPR and she had one sister, June Kimball.

- William D. Buck, 1859-1922, was born in England and is thought to have served during the First World War with the 103 Calgary Rifles. Buck was a Sergeant at the Banff and Castle Mountain internment camps, ca.1915-1917, and appears to have accompanied prisoners to a camp at Kapuskasing, Ontario after closure of the Castle Mountain camp in 1917.
