- The Alberta Centennial Mountain Expedition 2005 was a way for the Alpine Club of Canada, the Rocky Mountain Ramblers and other climbing groups to celebrate the Centennial of Alberta. - Ptarmigan Peak is located in Banff National Park in the Skoki Lakes region, near Lake Louise, AB. Ptarmigan Peak is part of the Slate Range of the Rocky Mountains. The peak was named in 1909 by Joseph W. A. Hickson who made the first ascent of the Peak along with Edward Feuz.
