(a) is possibly heavily starched linen fabric hat, made in a simple dome with a 3 cm. band, cut but not hemmed at the edges and decorated with a pink plaid satin ribbon which forms a band around hat, tucked down at one side and gathered into a "bow" at the other. (b) is a basketry straw hat woven in a twill fashion with sombrero edge, a blue satin ribbon as band decorated with two blue glass buttons at the front and flowers made of cloth in white and pink at the back. Ribbon ends hanging down as tails behind, and hat is lined with cream satin. Commercially manufactured.
