Description
Two dolls in Greek ethnic dress. Dolls of thin, hollow, formed plastic, with heads covered with laminated fabric on which has been painted identical features, and woolly hair attached. Arms, from elbows down, cast of hard plastic and fastened to wire armatures at the elbow. (a) woman, black pleated dress and vest trimmed with bright colours and lace, girded at waist with wide red sash with sequins at front, brightly trimmed, loose sleeved yellow blouse. Lace trimmed yellow scarf tied over braided brown hair. Gold disk earrings and medallions at breast, holding white wool and spindle, black plastic shoes with bright ankle bands, long white stockings, two very stiff petticoats. (b) man, short, white pleated chiton with red felt vest trimmed in bands of gold and white, blue sash at waist with blue and white twisted belt tied in loops, soft red cap with long black tassel perches on side of black hair, red plastic shoes with large blue and white pompoms and black ribbons at knees over long white stocking, blue curled mustache.
