- A straight walking stick with 46 lettered, riveted, metal bands (7/8 cm. wide) commemorating various hiking trips indicating date on flat side and location on the rounded front. The varnished hardwood body has a large ivory handle (seems to be part of a tusk) with a black rubber band underneath for gripping. The tip of the metal shaft is pointed, second metal piece is where wood and shaft are inserted into head for strength. Above this is a coiled thick wire wrapped around the stick, glued, then a thick ring of brass, and again another coil of wire glued into place. The first metal band from the handle has “1918 Alpine Club” stamped on it. The second and largest metal band 3.2 cm. has the words “A.O. Brigden” written in script and the word “WINNIPEG” printed underneath. - Typical ice axe, well used, pointed pick, curved adze and pointed slightly curved spike with serated (4) blade and two long metal strips extending 11 cm. from head (blade) riveted to the wooden shaft, two rivets to each side. There is a round hole in the bottom of the axe head where it fits onto the wooden shaft. Neatly carved into the wooden shaft 1.50 cm from the head are the words “MT. COOK” and underneath 12349 and at 2.5 cm. there is an “EM” scored in the wooden shaft. Engraved on pick blade: "J. Charlet a Chamonix” and to the left of this is an ibex logo. On the metal tube that extends from the wooden shaft there is a copper-coloured vertical line (might be a solder line).

- A well-worn, steel-toed, dark brown, unlined leather climbing boot with hobnailed soles. The upper part of the boot has nine grommetted eyelets for tightening; a soft leather tongue, folded and stitched to either side; eylelets cut in the leather across the toepiece and a tab, for pulling on the boot, sewn to the back. The sole has single clinkers around the forepart and around the heel; muggers in the centre and a single mugger in the centre of the heel; Tricouni nails (5 on the instep) and 4 on the outside opposite. There is a number “75360” written on the inside left ankle part of the boot.
