A band around the edge of the Union Jack reads “British Empire Service League” with a banner at the bottom that reads “Canadian Legion”. The medal is engraved on the back “Frederick Brewster, Jasper Alta no. 31 Branch 1927.(b) circular bronze pin from the Canadian Legion. The outside band is marked “British Empire Service League”. The centre of the pin has a bronze maple leaf on on an enamelled Union Jack pattern with a banner beneath that is marked “Canadian Legion”. Pin has screw-on stud back.(c) pin measuring 1.6cm wide x2.1cm, cut out in the shape of a shield with an enamelled Union Jack under a white maple leaf at the centre containing the letter “G.W.V.”. (Great War Veterans). Pin is surmounted by a silver-coloured crown.(d) pin measuring 2.3cm in diameter with a round bronze-coloured back and the words “For Service at the Front” around the edge border. The centre features an enamelled shield-shaped Union Jack with “C.E.F.” (Canadian Expeditionary Force) above the shield.(e) four brass-coloured metal pips.(f) one very simple gold-coloured round disk pin, maesuring 2.5cm in diameter with the word “Canadian Division, Lest We Forget” around the edge.

- The Mount Logan expedition was a joint mission between the Alpine Club of Canada and the American Alpine Club that took place in 1925. The expedition was led by A. H. MacCarthy, who had participated in the first accent of Mount Robson in 1913, and officially began in February, 1925 when the team, using horses and dogs to pull sleighs, cached supplies along the route. The ascent started on 12 May when they left the town of McCarthy, Yukon and the summit was reached on 22 June. The Mount Logan expedition was noted as being extremely difficult due to cold temperatures and violent storms. No members of the team were lost.

- PS-58, 59, 60, 61, 84, 112, 145, 160, 184, 185, 187, 196, 197, 206, 218 missing from order. PS-208 initially listed as missing, now replaced by "duplicate." Box 6/6 contained slides labled as "duplicates," upon comparison they were determined to be originals and added to the order; they now make up PS-232 to PS-254. This listing was originally part of a larger entry (containing textual records and photographs) for the Mount Logan expedition.

Topics include: Going into our first camp on the bars of the Chitina River being a half days run from "Rush Pound," where we stopped and had lunch on the way in ; Packing up at Brysons, being the old camp ground of the Surveys (Barny Bryson) and from which point a trail leads out of the valley of the Chitina (rising 3000 ft) and leading to the head of the Young Creek. MacCarthy took this trail coming in coming out last summer after the reconnaissance. This is the 4th. camp out from McCarthy the next 16 miles to Short River ; Short river Camp, 5th camp out from McCarthy and only 7 miles out from Hubricks. Mountain in back on other side of Chitina Valley. Crossed Clear Water, Canon and Short river before reaching this camp ; Eastward up the valley of the Chitina Valley Tree islands and the morain covered toe of the Chitina Glacier showing. Hubricks Camp near point shown on left, just showing ; The Chitina Valley below Hubrick's Camp distant horizon being the toe of the Chitina Glacier. Mt. Logan would be, if visible, direct centre looking up Chitina Gl. ; Panorama taken from a point on the Chitina just off the N.W. corner of the Chitina Glacier toe, at an old Trig Sta. which seemed to be part of old base line. Shows the range on the south side of the Chitina Valley and the last straight down the valley of the Chitina ; All a little blurred as focus in error set at 15 yrd. Panorama of the range on the south side of the Chitina River Valley, from a point 1/3 mile east of Hubrick's Camp. Logan in distant centre in 433 & 434 [452 & 453] ; Laing in front of his dungeon (Pup Tent). The afternoon's careful inspection of Logan equipment ; Survey tripod on the bars below toe of Chitina Glacier to N.W. line of bace line poasts leading away to W. No end of base mark showing ; From the summit point of the Terminal morains of the Chitina Glacier looking straight west down the valley and showing the trench between the glacier and the N. wall of the valley up which the trail lead to the last point of horse transport, "Trail End" ; The group on the ice in front of "Trail end Camp" ; Ice of the Chitina completely covered with debris, from the shore line on the N. side looking forward to Chitina Point ; Walsh camp at the end of the Chitina Point, the side of an old survey camp of 1913, facing a stretch of water directly off the point, the junctions of the Chitina and Walsh Glaciers ; Group, as per preceding negative showing drift and exposed dry wood on beech, old shore of long since sunken lake. - Scope & Content
- File pertains to photographs - mostly prints, also negatives and one glass slide - of the Mount Logan Expedition of 1925. Photographs of the Mount Logan Expedition were mainly produced by H. F. Lambart; also some by A. H. MacCarthy. All images are housed in the original brown envelopes used by the ACC and contain typed notes on the exteriors. Topics include: Rocky cove, resting for lunch an hour before reaching the "Fraser - Baldwin Cache" ; See description preceeding negative ; "Baldwin Fraser Cache" an old survey base camp of 1913 used in conjunction of the trip up the Baldwin on the attack of the shoulder of St. Elias that year and base camp for operations up the Logan Glacier by Dennis Mussell and others. Much old material strewn about. The last timber. Camp left on the morning of the 22nd, of May ; "B. & F Cache" ; "B & F Cache" ; Party starting out to the clear ice straight out in front May 21 to mark trail and to help matters on the morrow when camp is struck ; Striking Camp May 22 ; Sledding on the Logan glacier from the crossing of the boundary line on the Logan Glacier to Turn Camp at the junction of the Ogilvie and Logan Glaciers. Mt. Logan in centre distance very dim ; Resting on the snow covered surface of the Logan Glacier just below the end of the Ogilvie Glacier, showing the point Turn & the western end of Logan in the far distance ; With the sleds on the Logan Glacier, a rest for lunch near the junction of the Logan and Ogilvie Glacier ; Camp on the morains of the Ogilvie Glacier "Turn Cache" Cache left here 7 days for 8 men. Here last Feb and Mch. 4700 lbs of freight left here ; Two negatives showing the arrival of the party for the first time at the site of the Cascades Camp with two sleds from the "A.B.C." Cache, 8 mi. distant ; Lunching at Cascade camp site looking down the Ogilvie Glacier ; An avalanche hear the end of the ice fall of the upper Ogilvie Glacier ; Ice fields and tributary glaciers at the head of the Ogilvie Glacier.
