Printed on the front in black is an image of men unloading a truck in front of a store that has “ORDERS PROMPTLY FILLED” on the right and “Quality Food” in cursive underneath. Printed below the image is “WHITE GROCETERIA (Jock McCowan, Prop.) GROCERIES FRUITS VEGETABLES PHONE 68 BANFF, ALTA.” White Groceteria opened in October 1948 and closed ca. 1986-1987. It was located on Banff Avenue in the Dave White Block until a new building was constructed across the street from the Whyte Museum on Bear Street in the mid-1980s, at which point the grocery was moved and renamed Keller’s.
